No Smoking Signs | Smoking Prohibition Signs
No smoking signs or smoking prohibition signs are now a legal requirement in every public building and workplace*, as per the Smoke-Free (signs) Regulations 2007. According to legislation, no smoking signs must be displayed as white text on a red background and contain the no smoking symbol. The signs need to be a minimum of 142 x 210mm in size and the no smoking symbol needs to be 70mm in diameter. A no smoking sign must be displayed in each entrance to a building.
The above Regulations also apply to working vehicles such as company cars, HGV & LGVs, where smoking is now also not permitted.
Our no smoking signs are manufactured in accordance with the British Standard 5499. They are available in self-adhesive vinyl or rigid plastic in either standard or photoluminescent materials. A range is also available in Braille & tactile signage.

* There are some specific exemptions from the smoke-free law, with strict conditions. They allow designated rooms for smoking in certain types of places, including, bedrooms in hotels and guesthouses (but not dormitories), care homes and hospices and prisons.
